Exercises for eyes are meant to improve focusing, strengthen the eye muscles, eye movements, and enhance the vision center of the brain.
Even though there is no scientific proof that eye exercise will enhance the quality of your vision, the exercises may aid in overcoming impending problems you may have and maintain your present quality of sight.

Do This And You Will Never Have To Wear Glasses Again

Directional Eye Exercises

  1. Up and Down: Look upwards and concentrate on what you are seeing. Look downwards and concentrate on what you are seeing. Look upwards and downwards 5 times. Do this again for 3 times.
  2. Left and right: Look at your left side and concentrate on what you are seeing. Then look to your right and concentrate on whatever you are seeing. Direct your eyes 5 times from side to side. Repeat this 3 times.
  3. Diagonal vision exercise: Look forward. Look down and to the left. Move your eyes in a diagonal fashion and look up and right. Concentrate on what you see. Do this exercise 5 times, then look forward and repeat the same exercise while looking down and to the right and then look up to the left. Do this 3 times.
Up and Down Zig Zag: Look ahead and move your eyes in an up and down zig-zag movement.

The Figure 8 for Clear Vision and Relaxed Eye Movement

This exercise is great to practice for controlling your eye movement. Imagine a big figure 8 lying on the floor about 10 feet away from you.  Slowly trace the figure with your eyes. Try it in one direction for a few minutes and then repeat it in the opposite direction for a few minutes as well. Use both a lying and standing figure 8.

Rolling Your Eyes for Better Vision

  1. Roll your eyes in circles: Relax and sit up straight. Look at your left and gradually roll your eyes in clockwise circular motion. Do this 5 times clockwise and then anti-clockwise 5 times. Repeat this exercise 3 times.
  2. Roll your eyes in expanding circles: Relax, sit up straight and make a circular motion. Relax, sit up straight and remember to smile!

Focusing on near and far objects:

  1. Stand in front of a blank wall or sit on a chair and concentrate your vision on a nearby object e.g a pen. It should be placed about 10 inches (about 30cm) away from your eyes.
  2. Focus on the object.
  3. Look at a distant object. Focus on the object about 5-10 feet away and try to see the minute details.
  4. Look again at the nearby object.
  5. Change your focus up to 5 times. Repeat this exercise 3 times.

Use Palming to complete your vision exercise

Warm up your palms and use them to cover your eyes, breathe deeply and remain in a relaxed position for up to 2 minutes.
Also, you can end your eye exercise by closing your eyes in a quiet, dark room for several minutes. Allow them to cool down and relax.

How to Massage your Eyes for Better Vision

A massage will increase the circulation of blood in and around the eyes.
  1. A total face massage: Immerse a towel with warm water and use it to rub your cheeks, forehead, and neck. Next, gently massage your forehead with your fingertips with your eyes closed.
  2. Massage pressure points: Pressure points are situated in areas such as the middle of the eyebrows, the temples and the back corners of the eyes. Form a habit of massaging pressure points up to two times each day, one at night and once within the day.
  3. Eyelid massage: Make sure your hands are very clean. Massage your closed eyes by making round motions with your fingers for up to 2 minutes. As you massage, ensure you press very lightly. Applying light pressures will help stimulate them.
  4. Apply a cold and warm compress: Soak one towel in cold water and another towel in warm water. Cover your face with the warm towel and ensure it covers your cheeks, closed eyelids, and eyebrows. Take off the warm towel after 2-3 minutes and place the cold towel on your face.
